Ecrits Blogophilia Week 52.14 – Counting Sheep
Hard Bonus: Incorporate a movie line or quote from Keanu Reeves (first line)
Easy Bonus: Mention sudoku
“YOU EVER HAVE THAT FEELING WHERE YOU’RE NOT SURE IF YOU’RE AWAKE OR STILL DREAMING?”
Well I was in it, that place somewhere in between. The void, the gap, the dark blank slate. A state where anything could happen and it was all driven by emotion. Like an unsolved sudoku puzzle, I dreaded this space of unknowing.
I had no idea what would happen next.
Then it happened.
A window, no a door. It was a portal into a long hallway of light. There was no floor, no where to ground. I was simply floating through this hallway half mist half clouds. But bright. Brighter than any day I’d ever seen. And this light was not warm, but cool and comfortable. As Goldilocks would say, just right.
I continued to suspend myself there for an unknown length of time. Time? There was no time. Nothing I could count or measure. But the clouds seemed to morph into shapes, into sheep. So I counted those.
Somehow I had eased into a peace, a calm. The not knowing was now all knowing. I knew everything. Most of all I knew I was alright. Everything was alright.

You’ve outdone Trevor in joyous counting of sheep. The mystery of consciousness is deep. Are we really awake, or in a dream.
