Lexi had no idea what Liz’s Mom was talking about, “How does your Mom know my Dad’s name?”

“I have no idea. Let me get her on FaceTime.” Liz rang her Mother’s number and waited for her image to appear on the phone screen.

Sue Simms appeared, sans make-up in her striped P.J.’s. She was in the downstairs bathroom, so she could speak freely without waking up Mr. Simms. “I’m so sorry Liz, I just realized Lexi might not know she is adopted.”

“Mom! She is right here, and what the heck are you talking about? How do you know Lexi’s Dad?”

Liz set the phone upright on the table so Lexi could join the conversation, “Lexi, this is our Mom Sue, Mom this is Lexi.” As soon as she saw Sue, she felt as though she were looking in the mirror at an older version of herself.
“Hi Sue.” Lexi was suddenly nervous.

“Oh Lexi, I am so sorry,” Sue was actually tearing up, “You are just beautiful honey. Look at you.”

“Mom!” Liz was getting anxious, “What is going on?”

“Girls this is not how I ever imagined you would all find out. Lexi your Daddy is Dr. Neill Parker right? From Provo and his wife is Daisy Lynn Parker?”

“Yes and yes. You know my parents?”

“When I was just nineteen years old, your Daddy was my Doctor and he delivered you on May 7, 1994. You were 8 pounds 6 ounces, 21 inches long and I was all alone in that hospital, with no choice but to give you up. Dr. Parker and his wife were kind and childless, when I told them my story they knew immediately you were meant for them.”

Now Lexi and Sue were both crying.

Liz gasped, “So are you telling us Lexi is our sister?”

“Yes I had Lexi before I met your Father, he knows the whole story. He still wanted to marry me, and we went on to have you five beautiful girls.”

“I have more sisters?” Lexi was wiping her eyes, “What are their names and ages?”

“Well Becky is the oldest after you, she is 22. Lizzie here is 21. Rachel and Roberta are 17, twins. And the baby is also called Alexandra, only we call her Sandy, she is 13.

“Oh my Gosh, I grew up an only child, and now I have all these sisters? I understand why my parents never told me, they love me so much…”

“Oh honey I am so sorry that I’m blowing up your life like this. I just assumed you might know and might be looking for me by now.” Sue was relieved to finally be having this conversation.

“Well this will take some processing but I am happy to meet you. I already feel like Becky and Liz are family somehow, so this will be great.”

Liz was letting it sink in too, “I can’t believe it, another big Sister and we are so lucky that it is you Lexi!”

Lexi took the phone up off the table and brought Sue in closer and whispered, “I know you were young and all, but I have to ask, why didn’t you keep me?”

Sue sighed, and brought the phone up closer, “Honey my father was a Bishop in the Church, I was 19 years old and your biological father, was Hugh Hefner. I had no choice.”

“Hugh Hefner was my Father?” Lexi turned three shades of pale and looked as if she were about to faint.
