“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.”

Finally the Red Queen was alone in her Bothy, “Ahh think I’ll make a nice cup of Earl Grey and call it a day.”

“Knock knock,” the voice was familiar, but the Red Queen was surprised to be receiving yet another unexpected guest.
“Who’s there?”
“It’s me, Robert.”
“Robert Plant?”
“Yes Dear. May I come in?”
“Of course, come in, come in,” The Queen graciously welcomed in her illustrious friend.

“Tea?”she offered.
“Don’t mind if I do, unless you have anything stronger?” Robert took a seat on the faux fur settee. And began to remove his heavy sheepskin jacket.
“Afraid I used up all the Dewars in the Hot Buttered drinks I served earlier.”
“Dear God, what a concoction, why didn’t you use the Rum?”
“All out, I’m afraid, so I had to make do.”
“Did they survive it?”
“Poor Dears were already trying to survive the Mountain, and their relationship, so I don’t think they even noticed what was in the drink.”
“Ahh, were those the two friends of the Caftan Cowboy?”
“Yes. Thank you for sending the Raven Messenger alerting me they were on their way .”
“Told them you were the best Dream interpreter in all the land, so I hope they were pleased with your analysis.”
“Funny thing is the Dream spoke for itself so my work was already done.” The Queen smiled, pouring the boiling water into a silver teapot.
“Are you here for Dream analysis? I’ve gone off the clock, so it will have to be a quick one.”
“No, I’m actually here with a bit of good news. I’m not one to take advantage of your Dream Job.”
“Well I could certainly use some good news, would you like scones with your tea, I made Blueberry Cinnamon, turned out rather nice. But I suppose you prefer Lemon?”
“No, no scones today. Please sit down Woman and listen to my news!” Robert’s voice seemed urgent.
The Queen left the tea steeping, and sat opposite him on her blue velvety throne, “Go on then, I’m all ears.”
“Well you know how everything’s been cancelled, postponed and put off into the far and never future?”
“Yes?”
“I’ve received word from an absolutely pure source, that this is all, now brace yourself. Is your mind open to receive otherworldly information?”
“Hang on,” the Queen closed her eyes and took three very long deep breaths, “Okay I am ready now.”
“Are you aware that as the Sun rises with Sirius the Blue Star at dawn, the two royal Sirian Lions guard the Gateway as Guardians of Today and Tomorrow. A new time-line of potential is created during the Day out of Time on July 25th as the New Planetary Year opens on July 26th and culminates at the 8:8:20 Lions Gate.”

“So what does that mean exactly?”
“It means now is the time for a great reset, before you now comes the biggest blank canvas, a place to create your dream of dreams.”

“Ahh, that is good news.” The Queen got up to pour the tea, returning with two white english bone china cups, “This one is yours,” she handed Robert the cup with a lemon wedge on the side, “and this one is mine.” Her cup was overflowing.

“So, it has all been a Dream within a Dream really.”
“Has it?” The Queen smiled, “Well then perhaps my job is done.”

Dream a Little Dream Part 2

It was a momentous day at Raven’s Nook. On the glass deck above the waterfall the Red Queen gasped, “You remembered my dream? But how?”

Robert laughed, “I was in it wasn’t I?”

There, on Robert’s inner forearm was the half sketch of a face once drawn on a torn sheet of paper in The Red Queen’s dream. A dream in which she ripped the face in half and handed one side to Robert saying “This one is yours.”

Keeping the other half she replied, “This one is mine,” and in that moment she repeated the exact words lifting her long red velvet sleeve to reveal her own henna tattoo, the other half of the face, placed on the smooth inside of her forearm.

They put their arms side by side and like a puzzle the face came together seamlessly.

The Glasgow Girl raised her gossamer glass and toasted with glee, “Let the Great Reset begin!”

As if her words were magic, a chalky Crescent Moon appeared suddenly above the Dog Star and the Comet Neowise shot across the bright day sky.

In that moment the Caftan Cowboy came bounding down the stairs looking more like a Caftan Wizard in his starry robe and pointy hat. “Good Day Folks! Have you seen my friends Paul and Amanda? I’ve got the airship double parked next to Shakespeare’s Time Machine and I really should be getting them off this Mountain.”

“Upstairs!” All three pointed in unison.

“Hmm, Maybe I should see if he can drop me off on Skye? I have a hot date with a Kilted Viking and I really don’t want to be late,” the Glasgow Girl went after him in a flash.

The Red Queen laughed, “Never a dull moment at Raven’s Nook.”
“No, this place has seen it’s share,” nodded Robert.
The Red Queen looked down at their arms again and pondered,
“So, if you remember my dreams… does that mean?”
“Did I dream you dreamed about me? We’ve always had the same dreams. The Dreamtime is real my Dear. Remember? I told you reality is the great Illusion.
“Ah, yes. I think I wrote that down somewhere.”

Dream a Little Dream Part 3

Ecrits Blogophilia Week 22.13 Topic: Highway to Nowhere

Hard Bonus (2 points): Include a picture you took or a drawing you made

Easy Bonus (1 Point): Use the word “heatstroke”

***************
The Red Queen smiled at Robert, “You know I really should not be in the sun this long, I could get heatstroke.” They stood on the high glass deck of Raven’s Nook atop Ravenhill in the hidden mesa of Robert’s secret realm. “Could we maybe return to one of my shaded places to continue this Reset Dream Vision?”

“Back to the Bothy? Are you sure? “We’ve entered the Month of Lugh, these are the days of Meade and Sunflowers, Bel fires, bright lights and harvested grain…”
“Well if I promise you a palace on a calm river surrounded by the full Green Corn Moon will you follow me?” The Queen was very tempting when she wanted her way.

“I am the Sun, you are the Moon. I am the Leo, you the Virgo. Opposites yet the same. Kindreds of one cloth sewn through time. I’m rockin’ in the Sunshine, you are singing in the Rain.”

“You’re hitting on the Moonshine, I’m rocking in the grain,” The Red Queen chimed in.
“Got no time to pack my bags, my foots outside the door,” Robert closed his eyes and vanished. He was always better at teleporting than the Queen.

“I got a date, I can’t be late,” she sang after him, then laughed, “Hey wait for me.”

Suddenly she had an aerial view of the flowing Water of Leith and her cozy hideaway tucked beyond St. Bernard’s Well, and the wooded gorge where fay still play and whisper wisdom from the future past.

Slowly she climbed her grand red staircase, to spiral stairs with flame letters sparking her codes…next came the downward spiral and soon she entered the room where dreams could be spun in a tea cup with conversation and a laugh.

Mind your head….

“Off with my head!” shouted Robert from the Tearoom. He was reading an old “Bazaar” magazine when the Queen arrived.

When you go chasing rabbits…

“Aww you beat me here, I haven’t had time to prepare your tea,” The Queen always liked to welcome her guests properly.

“It’s all right Dear,” I’ve made some tea, sit down let’s get this Reset Dream Vision moving shall we?”

The Queen looked at the tea pot and laughed, “Just what kind of tea is this?”

Growth Tea

“I call it Tea for Growth,” Robert smiled “Like the tree, you grow as you expand and extend yourself into the unknown. Just as the tree grows downward you discover your roots going deeply into the dark subconscious and past, into the earth’s primordial collective unconsciousness.”

“Ah yes,” the Red Queen agreed,” like all the Sleeping Queens and Kings before us.”

“Our origin story, our birth. Their words still linger in the trees, stones and flowing waters.”

“Indeed they do. I see you’ve become more Merlin than Arthur in your golden years.”

“And you more Lady of the Lake, than Lady of Shalott.”

“I can live with that,” nodded the Red Queen, “I’ve moved past the unrequited loves and am ready now to serve my King.”
“The King of everything?” Robert mused while gazing out the window.
‘The Dream King,’ the Red Queen thought silently to herself.

“I feel better now.” Amanda sipped some more hot-buttered Dewars. She continued to ignore Paul but gave the Red Queen a weak smile. Being let into the Red Queen’s cottage during the blizzard had been a lifesaver.

“Robert Plant said to expect you, and at the most inopportune time.” The Red Queen laughed.

“Did Robert Plant tell you I was here?” Paul was steamed.

“This has nothing to do with you, Paul. Robert said the Red Queen is the only person he trusts to interpret his dreams. Why don’t you do everyone a favor and disappear. That’s all you’re good for.”

“I can’t at the moment. I just saved your life by getting you to the cottage, you know.”

“Paul be quiet! Both of you!” The Red Queen said sternly. “You two are linked and are so self-absorbed that you will continue to intersect until you finally discover what you need to learn from each other.

Amanda, Robert only sends me persons who have nightmares. It is my gift to interpret your dreams, uncover your dream job if you will, in waking life. Tell me about it.”

Amanda sighed. “I dream of Singing Woman falling asleep in a blizzard. And she turns to stone. Eons pass by and seasons change, but she is unmoved. No song, only Nature’s sounds.”

“Paul, I don’t believe in coincidences, do you? I see by your face Amanda’s dream means something to you, doesn’t it?”

“In Arizona I spent a month in solitude. Training for tackling the Munros at Sleeping Woman Mesa. About an hour outside Tombstone. All the time I was there I stayed focused, preparing to bag all 282. Except one morning, I watched a butterfly emerge. Metamorphosis.”

“Look at this!” Amanda revealed her calf. The butterfly tattoo was still slightly red and healing.

Their eyes connected, and in a flash, they both realized something vital…

“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to transform. Start by crawling, but trust that life will allow you to soar.” The Red Queen then put on her favorite 8-track.

Ooh, it makes me wonder…

“Tracks?” Robert glared at the Red Queen. “Woman, you didn’t send those two to Raven’s Nook?” He sighed as she smiled with that innocent look.

I’ll still have a surprise in store for her he chuckled to himself as they trudged along. But then he noticed the sparkling eyes. She knew? Damn that Raven Messenger was gossipy old bird!

He’d still have the ***last laugh*** though.

🌲🌲🌲

No one knows when Raven’s Nook was first begun. It was initially a stone cottage perched on a Ben Avon’s steep cliffside. As the Raven flies, just a short flight from the Red Queen’s bothy. But a challenging hike, especially with fresh snow.

The Druids called it cnoc an fhithich, it was ancient when they first climbed their way to it. And local lore still spins stories of Shakespeare’s parents being stranded there all winter, and it becoming his birthplace. It is well known he returned to it many years to write.

In the early 1960s Paul McCartney purchased it and stealthily had famed architect Louis Kahn start adding to the original structure. ***Creating an illusion*** it was floating in mid-air.

After Paul disappeared, it lay hidden and vacant until Robert Plant rediscovered it in 1969. He wrote Stairway to Heaven there in 1970 after a temporary fallout with Jimmy Page at Bron-Yr-Aur, a remote cottage in Wales, induced him to seek a bit of healing solitude.

An aged, hand-written manuscript in Olde English, discovered in a hiding place in the oldest part of Raven’s Nook, made Titania and Oberon come vividly alive for him as inspiration.

“Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow?
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?” Robert sang softly as he opened the door.

Amanda and Paul could be heard heatedly arguing on the upper floor, The Glasgow Girl smiling and walking towards them with a tray of Dewars in ***gossamer***-translucent Knot Rock Glasses.

“The Irish island gig didn’t work out?” The Red Queen pretending to be surprised.

“It did in a way, but I needed a Starbucks one day and then decided I couldn’t pass up sharing the Great Reset with you a bit closer to Moon.”

The Red Queen noticed Robert unconsciously rubbing his arm. He always had something up his sleeve.

“What do you make of this? Every year I look for what symbol the Universe keeps popping up my way.” He rolled up the sheepskin jacket to show them the henna tattoo. “Ooh, it makes me wonder.”

The Red Queen gasped…
