The Lonely Sea Prevails

———————————————

The Lonely Sea Prevails

A shimmer of gold dances across the black of the midnight ocean,

It is the full moon playing amidst the waves.

A hush rushes back and forth,

the Lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar

A tall man takes the hand of pretty girl and whispers,

“Remember tonight for it is the beginning of always…”

She closes her eyes and leans in for his kiss,

Instead of lips, she’s met with the soft wet mist

Of wind and water…

He is gone, like a song and she is left to wonder,

was he brother, or was she daughter?

They shared the same mind in time…

Perhaps he was merely her guide,

from the otherside,

offering his hand

and a pea green boat with a black pair of sails.

“Come sail away with me,

in this boat of tomes…

to a land beyond the time before,

where upon the distant shore,

there is more, so much more.

Between my songs and your tales,

1,000 years gone before,

and should words fail, well…

The Lonely Sea Prevails.

The Lonely Sea Prevails…”
