Unrelenting Spirit

Unrelenting Spirit

dances across the plane, of windswept torment

and ill begotten fame.

Unrelenting Spirit

lost to days of yore, contemplates a future

with nothing to live for…

While the moon drifts in the skies…

Stay awake, don’t close your eyes.

Mockingbird says to the Jay,

Come little spirit, come and play.

Canary sings to the Warbler,

Time for us to look away…

Stay awake, don’t nod and dream…

stay awake, don’t nod and dream.

Unrelenting Spirit

stumbles in the dark, forever searching

for the lark.

Unrelenting Spirit

gives in to the pull, of waves that rush

and a breeze so still.

Hush says the Robin to the Wren,

life circles back, to begin again…

The Heron knows where, the Crow

knows when.
